Free Tuition for Wartime Veterans

Rating: 10%+ rating, or wartime/campaign service

One month of free undergraduate tuition at state schools per month of qualifying service (minimum 1 year, maximum 4 years). Must be honorably discharged, an SD resident when you entered service, and qualify for in-state tuition, plus one of: active duty after Aug 2, 1990 in a wartime period, a campaign or expeditionary medal, or a VA rating of 10%+.

South Dakota residents with a 40%+ service-connected rating (or a VA 'K' award) can apply for a reduced-fee hunting and fishing license. Active duty stationed outside SD can hunt and fish free while on leave.
